"Dog on a bone mentality every shift": Utah Hockey Club's 3-0 start leaves Paul Bissonnette, P.K. Subban impressed
The Utah Hockey Club has started the season with a perfect 3-0 record after a thrilling 6-5 OT win against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The victory follows a dramatic 5-4 overtime win against the New York Islanders and a 5-2 season-opening win against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The fast start by the expansion Utah Hockey Club has caught the attention of NHL analysts P.K. Subban and Paul Bissonnette. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Subban praised the team's work ethic and competitiveness, saying:
"Utah... dog on a bone mentality every shift, no quit, out working every team they play. Fun team to watch!"
He noted that despite missing key players John Marino and Nick Bjugstad due to injury, the team continued to fight hard while preserving cap space to potentially add pieces later.
Bissonnette was equally impressed, calling the Utah team "must watch hockey right now." He highlighted their three thrilling wins to start the season and high-powered offense, which has already tallied 16 goals. Bissonnette said:
"The Utah Hockey Club are must watch hockey right now. They win another thriller in New York. They start the season 3-0. 16 goals scored. All systems go. Top 6 forwards have been unstoppable."
Utah's next challenge is on Sunday when they face the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center.
Brawl erupts between Utah Hockey Club and New York Rangers
Tensions boiled over as a massive brawl erupted during the game between the Utah Hockey Club and New York Rangers.
The fight broke out simultaneously in two spots on the ice during the second period. Near the Utah goal, Michael Kesselring of the Hockey Club tangled with Sam Carrick of the Rangers, with both players dropping gloves and exchanging punches.
At the same time on the opposite end of the rink, Utah's Jack McBain and Adam Edström of the Rangers engaged in a brawl. Edström landed a massive punch that left McBain's face bloodied.
While the fight between Kesselring and Carrick was broken up quickly by referees, McBain and Edström continued to exchange blows until both players collapsed to the ice.
