Eminem gets a special shoutout from Detroit Red Wings legend for appearing at Kamala Harris rally

Detroit Red Wings legend Dominik Hasek, who spent four seasons of his Hall of Fame career with the team, saw that Eminem was at a Kamala Harris rally. It is election season in the United States, and both candidates have been attempting to bring big-name celebrities to their rallies for public support.

Harris brought the Detroit-area rapper, and he introduced former president Barack Obama to the cheering crowd. The current vice president and 2024 presidential candidate's rally was off from there, with Eminem's "Not Afraid" playing over the speakers.

Hasek was proud to see the rapper at the rally, saying on X:

"Thank you Eminem for supporting democracy against dictatorship, evil and endless lies. In the city where I spent a beautiful part of my hockey career."

The former goaltender was a six-time All-Star and has publicly voiced support for one of the two presidential candidates in next month's election. During his playing career, Hasek also played for the Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators.

Detroit Red Wings star wants more offense in 2024

The Detroit Red Wings won a game on Tuesday over the New York Islanders while scoring just one goal. The team shut out New York, but its offense was almost nowhere to be found.

Veteran star Patrick Kane said his team needs to pick that up via the Detroit Free Press:

"We need to push the pace offensively sometimes. I think there's a lot of focus on the defensive end and that's all good, but sometimes the best defense is playing offense and playing with the puck and playing in their end. I think we can do that a lot more."

Kane scored the lone goal in that win, which pushed the team to 3-3-0 on the season. The veteran added:

"Sometimes we have good shifts and then we kind of retreat and sit back a little bit. You want to be a team that comes in wave after wave and be able to sustain that momentum for long periods of time."

The Red Wings are back in action Thursday against the New Jersey Devils at 7 pm EST. The Devils are off to a strong start this year, coming into this game at 5-3-1 in 2024.
