Ex-NHLer Cam Janssen slams female Secret Service agents scrambling after Donald Trump's assassination attempt
Former NHLer and "The Cam and Strick Podcast" host Cam Janssen has criticized female Secret Service agents for their response to the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump last week.
On "The Cam and Strick Podcast," Janssen expressed concerns about the Secret Service's response to the incident involving former President Donald Trump's assassination attempt.
Cam Janssen highlighted the reactions of female agents during the crisis, questioning their effectiveness and decision-making:
"What's up with the Secret Service? What's up with them and these women that are like, what do I do? You could hear them. You could hear their audio. "Where do we go? What do I do?" It looked like Melissa McCarthy in ... you know, the actress, the comedian who's just like, at the... or Paul Blart, the mall guy," Cam Janssen said.
"This looked like a comedy show. They had no idea what they were doing. They were like four feet, five feet. They're trying to cover them. They had no idea. She couldn't even holster a weapon. The one girl's like, I gotta put my glasses on. What the heck was that all about?," he added.
Another host, Andy Strickland, emphasized the need for agencies to improve their performance, pointing out the perceived lack of competence among some agents during the crisis:
"They gotta get their act together because they know they messed up. They got these people who had no idea what they're doing. The one girl ducks. There's a picture of her ducking while all these guys jump on and did their thing.
"It was the weirdest situation I've ever seen in my life. And some people are saying that the Secret Service did the right thing by protecting Trump once the shots rang out," he added.
The incident involving Trump's attempted assassination has sparked a broader debate about the capabilities of the Secret Service and of women agents in the agency responsible for protecting presidents, former presidents and presidential candidates.
