"Felix and I are both sad": Erin Alvey discloses Filip Forsberg's absence from family's Thanksgiving plans owing to Predators' away trip
Nashville Predators alternate captain Filip Forsberg is married to country music icon Erin Alvey. Together, the couple welcomed their son Felix this May.
On Saturday, Alvey shared an Instagram post disclosing their plans for Thanksgiving this year. She expressed her excitement about celebrating the occasion with her son Felix in South Georgia.
“One of my most favorite weeks of the year loading!! So looking forward to bringing my son to my childhood home in South Georgia for his first Thanksgiving this week🦃🍽🔥🪵 (minus we’re both sad to be spending it without the person Felix and I are most thankful for🥺❤️),” she wrote.
Unfortunately for the family, Filip Forsberg won’t be able to join them because the Predators have an away game against the New Jersey Devils on Monday at the Prudential Center.
Earlier this month, Alvey released her first single from her latest album, “Q+A.” She thanked fans for their support as she returned from a hiatus to dedicate time to motherhood and the love they have shown to her debut single “End Badly” from the EP.
“‘End Badly,’ the debut single from my ep 'Q+A' is yours now🖤 As an independent artist, each share and stream means more than you know," Alvey wrote. "Thank you for making it all worth it for me.
“Y’all have stood by me and given me encouragement to continue chasing my dreams while still offering me incredible patience to prioritize being a wife and now a mother.
“It’s a gift that I do not, and will never, take for granted. Release days are always so exciting, yet so nerve-wracking by the same token. Seeing y’all take the time out of your days to reach out, stream, and share my song touches me to the core. I love y’all. Thank you. Really.🖤”
Erin Alvey and son Felix celebrate Halloween with Filip Forsberg from rinkside
Filip Forsberg’s wife and son visited him rinkside on Halloween during the Nashville Predators game against the Edmonton Oilers. Felix was dressed in a green turtle costume, and the father-son duo shared an adorable moment on the ice.
Erin Alvey posted a carousel of pictures from the occasion on Instagram. One of the images had Felix waving at his dad, while another had Forsberg interacting with his son from the ice in Predators gear during the game.
“I am still so floored by y’all’s insanely kind response to the song dropping on Friday, but I didn’t want to miss my chance to share our little man’s 1st Halloween. In true hockey baby fashion, it was spent at Daddy’s game🐢🎃🏒," Alvey wrote.
"While I was pregnant with Felix, Filip and I never once said his name, but instead referred to him as 'our turtle'. (an accidental nickname that came about after Filip declared he “looked like a turtle” during our very first ultra sound😑🤣).”
Erin Alvey and Filip Forsberg have been together for almost a decade. The couple originally met in 2014, which Alvey revealed was "long before the mustache" with a throwback picture on Instagram. The couple married in July 2022 in Alvey’s family chateau in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France.
