"Gutless loss, this core has zero heart": Blueshirts fans blast core NY Rangers players after 2-0 shutout loss to Predators

The NY Rangers' losing streak stretched further on Tuesday, following a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Nashville Predators at Bridgestone Arena. Last year's Presidents' Trophy winner and Eastern Conference finalist, New York's abysmal performance left fans infuriated.

Fans, who until the Rangers' 5-1 defeat to the LA Kings on Saturday were calling for coach Peter Laviolette and general manager Chris Drury's expulsion, have had their emotions cranked up even further. Following Monday's 3-2 loss against the St. Louis Blues and the subsequent defeat against the Predators, fans have started demanding action against underperforming players as well.

"Gutless losers….this core has zero heart. Blow it up everyone over the age of 25 needs to go," one fan wrote.
"All management and coaching staff and locker room attendants and 1/2 the players must exit," wrote another fan.
"How pathetic this team has become. They are completely lost. What a f****** joke," another stated.

The NY Rangers achieved the NHL's best record last season and started the ongoing season with a promising 5-0-1, giving fans hope that their three-decade-long Stanley Cup drought might come to an end this season. However, since then, the team's relentless decline with a 3-11-0 record in the last 14 games has left fans bamboozled and frustrated.

Suffering from a dismal 11-loss streak in their last 14 games, the Rangers, with a mediocre 15-15-1 record, are placed third from the bottom in the Eastern Conference's Metropolitan Division.

"Honestly, the NY Rangers look like the worst team in the league right now," exclaimed one fan.
"I don’t get it? So much talent on the team, what’s not working?" questioned one fan.
"This is the worst loss I’ve witnessed as a Rangers fan in my life I think," said another fan.
"Major changes need to be made. This is the most embarrassing loss in years," another fan expressed.

The NY Rangers' struggles continue to worsen, as they suffered their third consecutive loss and fell to a dismal 3-11-0 in their last 14 games. After Tuesday's 2-0 shutout loss against the Nashville Predators and Monday's 2-1 defeat against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Rangers have suffered two losses to the 32nd-placed NHL teams within a span of eight days.

Furthermore, according to The Athletic's Peter Baugh, coach Peter Laviolette publicly criticized the team's third-period performance.

Disgruntled over the NY Rangers' abysmal performance, Laviolette said:

“We’re in the business of winning. So when you’re not winning it’s frustrating. Everybody’s irritated by the whole thing. We’ve got to find a way out, and we’ve got to do it quick.”

The Rangers' next matchup is against the Dallas Stars (19-11-0) on Friday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
