HC Lindy Ruff makes his feelings known after Buffalo Sabres' 10th straight loss
Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff shared his thoughts after a 5-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday.
The Sabres started strong, taking a 3-1 lead, but the Leafs found their form and mounted a remarkable comeback to cut the deficit and eventually win the game.
Ruff expressed his deep frustration, saying that he feels almost at a loss for words. He took full responsibility for the team's struggles:
“I’m almost lost for words. It’s on me to solve this. This is as tough a solve as I’ve been around, but it’s on me to get these guys in the right place to win a hockey game. Nobody else. Just me.”
The Sabres, who had been on a solid run with a 10-5-0 record and sitting in fourth place in the Atlantic Division, have suffered 10 consecutive defeats.
This losing streak marks their worst stretch since the 18-game skid the Buffalo Sabres experienced during the 2020-21 season.
“Pretty (crappy), honestly,” Sabres winger Alex Tuch said of the feeling in the dressing room. “Losing 10 in a row, there’s no good feelings. You just got to work.”
The Sabres are seventh in the Atlantic Division with a 11-16-4 record and 26 points after 31 games.
The Buffalo Sabres travel to Centre Bell Arena to face the Montreal Canadiens next on Tuesday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. ET.

"A win’s a win, massive win,” Domi said via NHL.com. “Obviously, coming from behind, it’s not easy against a team like that. You’ve got to give them credit, they came out flying so it felt good to get back into it.”
At 12:41, John Tavares scored on the power play, tying the game 3-3 for Toronto. He went on to score twice, completing a hat-trick and securing an impressive 5-3 win for the Leafs.
