"He's better than me" - Sam Gagner's wife Yelena shares pics from their attempt at surfing
Edmonton Oilers forward Sam Gagner's wife, Rachel Yelena Gagner, is popular among Oilers fans. She has almost 12k followers on Instagram and frequently shares glimpses of her life with them.
The offseason is popular among NHL players for relaxing, vacations, and weddings. Recently, Sam and Rachel took a moment for themselves and went out to the lake for boat wave surfing and Rachel shared pictures from their adventure. She first shared a picture of Sam falling from a surfboard into the nearby waves. She wrote, "Sam + the water," implying Sam's love for water-based adventures.
Next, she shared a picture of Sam struggling to surf and ride the waves. Rachel wrote, "A series," with the picture.
In the following video, Rachel shared a picture of herself surfing. At first, she seems to be in control, but in the next few seconds, she sinks with the surfboard.
"JK he's (Sam) better than me," she wrote.
Rachel also shared a photo of her daughter Cali jumping into the lake with a life jacket on. Rachel also shared a picture of her small group, which included her and Sam, along with two friends.
Recently Sam Gagner and Rachel celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary
In July, Rachel Yelena and Sam Gagner celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary, having married on July 12, 2014. Rachel shared their joy on Instagram. The couple clicked selfies together, went for an anniversary dinner, a bar visit, and much more.
Rachel posted more photos of the celebration, which featured her, Sam, and their three children - Cooper, Beckham, and Cali. The post included tender moments between family members and was captioned:
"Married the man of my dreams and we created a real dream life."
Sam also shared an Instagram post for the anniversary, which featured a mirror selfie of the couple. His caption read,
"10 years and we couldn't be happier. Love you @yelenabass."
The couple's relationship began in 2008, and they started dating in 2010. Sam proposed in Colorado three years later and they married at Trinity United Church in Muskoka, Ontario.
