A.J. Greer overcomes injury and celebrates family milestone before signing with Florida Panthers

A.J. Greer had a tough two months, missing 18 games with a fractured foot he sustained on January 25 against Columbus. Despite concerns about his future, Greer found support from his family, especially his wife and newborn son Jackson, born in February during his recovery.

Reflecting on the challenges, he pointed out the birth of his son as a blessing.

“My wife has done such an excellent job of being a mother these last couple weeks, I’m so grateful to have her around,” Greer said (via NHL.com on March 18, 2024). “Our baby boy, Jackson, is doing great; it’s definitely a blessing because the last two months there’s so many emotions, highs and lows."
“There’s just so many emotions that went through my head the last two months,” he added. “We had our baby boy which was probably the best day of my life.“I’m so grateful for everything.”

On July 1, the Florida Panthers signed forward A.J. Greer to a two-year contract worth $850,000 annually. Last season, he scored six goals and six assists in 59 games with the Calgary Flames.

Greer, who is six-foot-three, has a career total of 13 goals and 19 assists in 167 NHL games. He's played for Colorado, New Jersey, Boston and Calgary before joining the Panthers.
