In Photos: Alex Wennberg's wife Felicia shares choicest moments spent with family during offseason
On Thursday, San Jose Sharks forward Alex Wennberg's wife Felicia shared glimpses of their life on Instagram with their toddler Ivy, born in March and their older son Rio.
In one picture, Ivy was seen giggling in a jumpsuit with flower-shaped goggles. His older brother is currently taking lessons on how to gently take care of him.
Alex Wennberg, who struggled last season, is enjoying family time with his two kids. He was seen smiling in one picture with both kids in his arms.
Being a mother involves staying vigilant at every moment. Felicia was captured keeping an eye on her sleeping kids, with her arms wrapped around them.
Rio also went on a boating adventure with his pet. However, Alex, Felicia and Ivy were not in the photo. Ivy was smiling in almost every picture.
Their two dogs, a Toy Poodle and a Dachshund could also be seen in one picture.
Alex Wennberg joined San Jose Sharks as mentor on $5 million deal
Alex Wennberg, a 29-year-old center, joined the San Jose Sharks this season as a mentor. He signed a two-year deal worth $5 million per year. Some think the deal is high, but it helps the Sharks meet the cap floor with their available space. The contract includes a full no-trade clause for the first year.
The Sharks signed Wennberg to cover for possible injuries to Logan Couture and to guide young centermen. Wennberg is eager to share his experience and learn from younger players.
"I look forward to it. I feel like [it goes] two ways as well," Wennberg said via (thehockeynews.com). "I feel like, as an older player right now, I'm still 29, but for me to see those young guys coming in, to have such a skill and their talent, I feel like you can teach them a few things. I feel like it could be the same the other way around."
Last season, Wennberg was a key third-line center for the New York Rangers, helping them reach the Eastern Conference Final. This has made him more driven. With young talents like Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith on the team, Wennberg and Mikael Granlund will help them develop.
Wennberg has played 712 NHL games and looks forward to passing on the advice he received from his own mentors.
