IN-PHOTOS: Canadiens' Nick Suzuki's fiancée Caitlin shares stunning pictures from their date night in Italy
On Wednesday, Montreal Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki and his fiancée, Caitlin Fitzgerald, enjoyed a romantic getaway in Italy. Fitzgerald shared stunning photos from their date night near Lake Como.
Fitzgerald posted three photos of their evening together on Instagram. The first photo shows a breathtaking view of Lake Como from their hotel.
The second photo shows their dinner table set up right on the balcony. With Lake Como as the backdrop, the table is decorated with light and drinks.
The third snap is a solo shot of Suzuki viewing the lake scenery.
Suzuki and Fitzgerald announced their engagement in April after six years of dating. He proposed during a trip to the Dominican Republic. The couple shared Instagram photos showing Fitzgerald's oval-cut diamond ring.
Caitlin Fitzgerald shares heartfelt thoughts on fiancé Nick Suzuki
In February, Caitlin Fitzgerald shared insight into their relationship and Nick Suzuki's close friendship with teammate Cole Caufield in an interview on the Habs' website.
"We're both from London, Ontario. We kind of just knew each other through mutual friends. Nick had been living out of town playing hockey, but we just kind of connected around 2016-2017 on Instagram and Snapchat and the rest is history," Fitzgerald said.
When asked about Suzuki's best qualities, Fitzgerald said:
"He's super compassionate. He's super easy to get along with."
"There are a lot of things about him all in one realm. I think his demeanor in general is something that is one of his greatest qualities. Anything you throw at him, any stressful situation, any bad situation, he always knows how to handle everything, and he does it calmly."
Discussing Suzuki's special bond with teammate and close friend Cole Caufield, she said:
"Cole's personality bounces off Nick's so well. Nick is so calm and chill, and Cole is so energetic and fun. Their opposite personalities mix really, really well together and when they're together, it's like they're in their own world."
Fitzgerald's words paint a picture of their supportive relationship and Nick's strong character on and off the ice.
