Johnny Gaudreau’s wife Meredith Gaudreau recently attended a special event to support her sister-in-law Madeline Gaudreau, the widow of Johnny’s late brother, Matthew. The family gathered for Madeline's baby shower to welcome the child who is to be named Tripp.
Meredith posted a series of pictures on her Instagram stories from the family affair. She reposted a story from Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau’s sister, Katie’s account and wrote in the caption,
“The future Aunts.”
The theme of the gathering was light blue and white, and they arranged a sign that read “Welcome to Our Baby Shower Matty & Madeline”, in memory of the late Matthew Gaudreau.
In another reposted picture where the ladies posed together with Madeline, Meredith wrote:
“Tripp’s Hollydell Aunts,” with white, blue and yellow hearts.
In the last story, Meredith Gaudreau expressed her love for her sister-in-law. Madeline can be seen smiling in the picture.
“Love you @mogaudreau. Tripp’s glowing mama. Matty’s stunning wife”, she wrote in the caption.
Madeline Gaudreau herself posted a carousel of pictures from the special day on her Instagram. She penned a heartfelt message of gratitude for her dear ones in the caption.
“Baby Shower of my Dreams 🤍🕊️ Thank you @gabriellevasaturo for hosting. @bitesizedsis you’re amazing, my husband would have loved all the balloons. The way you were able to tie in my husband brought instant tears when I walked in,” she wrote.
“All my friends and family, nothing will bring his dad back or uncle john, but I am glad he has so many amazing people around him to remind him how amazing they were 💙”
Eric Gudbranson’s children sport Johnny Gaudreau’s iconic No. 13
Columbus Blue Jackets alternate captain Erik Gudbranson’s family shared a special tribute for the late Johnny Gaudreau. Erik’s wife Sarah Gudbranson posted pictures of their children, Bennett and Zoey, wearing custom sweaters featuring Johnny Gaudreau’s iconic No. 13 on her Instagram in a touching post.
The shirts were a gift from Erik's sister, Lauryn Gudbranson, which the kids wore on the Blue Jackets' season-opening day.
"Always for #13 🤍The most thoughtful and special season opening day delivery from the best Auntie @lauryngudbranson 🥺,” Sarah wrote in the caption.
Meredith Gaudreau, clearly moved by the gesture, reshared the post on her Instagram story.
"Love these little guys," she added in the caption as a way to show her appreciation.
The tribute is one of many from the hockey community to honor Johnny, who tragically passed away in August along with his brother, Matthew.
