In Photos: Leon Draisaitl and fiancée Celeste Desjardins share sweet moments with sis Kim's son
Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl is spending the offseason with family and friends. After proposing to his girlfriend Celeste in Mallorca, Sapin, in early June, Draisaitl attended his on-ice partner Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle’s wedding in Ontario.
On Friday, Draisaitl took some time off to spend quality moments with his sister Kim Draisaitl's son. Kim and her partner, German field hockey pro Niklas Wellen, have a one-year-old son who was born in January last year during the Hockey World Cup.
Draisaitl and his fiancée Celeste Desjardins shared pictures from the day on their Instagram stories. In one of the pictures, Draisaitl can be seen sitting on the steps of a platform with his nephew, feeding him snacks.
“My guy❤️,” Leon Draisaitl captioned the picture.
In one of Celeste's stories, the couple is sitting together on the steps along with their nephew.
Seemingly, Leon Draisaitl is quite close to his family, including his sister Kim. Kim was present with her son during Leon's surprise engagement in Mallorca.
Leon Draisaitl enjoyed Connor McDavid's wedding to the fullest
Earlier this week, Leon Draisaitl’s fiancée Celeste Desjardins shared pictures on her Instagram from Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle's wedding celebrations. She posted some of her best moments from the event, including one clip where Draisaitl slow-danced to the music with her.
In another picture, the couple can be seen sharing an intimate hug during the wedding dinner.
Draisaitl has been McDavid’s best partner on the ice, and he was visibly one of the most excited wedding guests at his captain’s wedding. Together they lifted Lauren during the afterparty celebrations as she proudly held a bottle of tequila.
McDavid and Kyle are very close to Leon and Celeste. They celebrated the couple’s engagement with a double date right after their wedding weekend. In fact, Kyle was one of the most enthused people after hearing about Draisaitl and Desjardins’ engagement.
While many would have expected Connor McDavid to have served as his friend’s advisor on matters of the heart, the Oilers captain had admitted that he did not give any advice to Draisaitl before he got down on one knee.
Nevertheless, McDavid expressed being happy for his friend. Soon, Draisaitl could follow in his captain’s footsteps and tie the knot this offseason.
