In Photos: Maple Leafs’ William Nylander enjoys a stroll through London during the offseason

Toronto Maple Leafs star forward William Nylander has been making the most of his time off this summer. He shared pictures of his travels in London in a post on Instagram.

The post featured a video of the Leafs winger playing tennis at Wimbledon. Earlier, Nylander had shared photos of himself getting tips from Swedish junior tennis star William Rejchtman Vinciguerra.

Nylander also shared images of his tour of local pubs, restaurants and time spent with close friends. In one picture, Nylander and his friends appear to be enjoying the recent Spain-England Euro Championship final. In another picture, Nylander is spotted at a subway station in London.

Overall, it seems that William Nylander is enjoying his time in London before returning to the business of playing hockey. The Maple Leafs will be counting on Nylander to be rested and recovered as the club heads into a crucial season.

Projecting William Nylander’s role in the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup this upcoming season

Daily Faceoff currently projects William Nylander to slot in on the right side with John Tavares and Bobby McMann on the Maple Leafs second line. Former coach Sheldon Keefe paired Nylander and Tavares together, adding the gritty McMann to the mix over various games last season.

Under Craig Berube's leadership this season, there is speculation that Nylander and Tavares might be split up.

As The Athletic noted, Nylander might join Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner on the top line. Stacking the Maple Leafs' top line could be a radical move that Berube could try in contrast to Keefe's consistent lines in recent seasons.

Moreover, if Berube keeps Nylander on the second line, someone would have to replace him on the left. The Athletic pointed out that Tyler Bertuzzi's departure leaves a hole in Toronto's second line.

While McMann is a great option, he hasn’t proven himself a top-six forward yet. Veteran Calle Jarnkrok could be a candidate to fill that spot.

Ultimately, Berube faces an interesting choice with William Nylander. There may be an opportunity for Berube to take a page from the Edmonton Oilers’ playbook and move Nylander up and down the lineup as needed, keeping opposing teams off balance and providing Toronto with the flexibility it needs throughout the season.
