In Photos: Panthers' Gustav Forsling eats cinnamon rolls out of Stanley Cup, takes it out for helicopter tour over Swedish town
Florida Panthers defenceman Gustav Forsling found a unique way to celebrate his team's Stanley Cup victory in his hometown. After bringing the iconic trophy back to Linköping, Sweden, Forsling decided to have some fun and shared photos of his celebrations on Instagram.
In one photo, Forsling is seen placing cinnamon rolls on the Stanley Cup.
Another shows him enjoying the pastry directly out of the Cup with his mother.
Forsling also took it on a helicopter tour over the Swedish town.
One amazing photo shows Forsling and his wife Daniela Kindstrand kissing in the helicopter with the Cup prominently displayed.
To cap off the special day, the Panthers' account also shared a video of him in the helicopter with the Stanley Cup on his lap.
Based on the post, Forsling and the Stanley Cup had quite an adventure and a delicious time in Sweden.
Gustav Forsling's thoughts on Florida Panthers winning Stanley Cup
Florida Panthers defenceman Gustav Forsling reflected on winning the Stanley Cup during an interview with Hockey on Fanatics View in June.
When asked about the Stanley Cup-winning experience, Forsling said,
"Yeah, it's very surreal to be honest, even in the last week here it's been very emotional and you know it's an unbelievable feeling and it's nothing I take for granted."
He went on to say,
"It's something I've been working very hard for over the last couple years here and you know just very honored."
Forsling also added,
"It's been very quick I feel like but you know it's hard to wrap that around my head right now, it's a very good feeling and I've worked very hard to be in this position."
He then acknowledged the role of his teammates in achieving this feat, saying,
"I've been very fortunate to play on a very good team that's had a very great success in the playoffs and in the regular season, so I'm very blessed to be in this position.
Before the interview ended, Gustav Forsling thanked the Panthers organization as he remains humbled by the journey to hoisting the iconic trophy.
