In Photos: Pat Maroon, Zack Kassian among NHL stars to mark their attendance at Connor McDavid's wedding with Lauren Kyle
Several NHL stars attended Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid's wedding on Saturday. McDavid tied the knot with partner Lauren Kyle, but not many photos of their wedding are available.
The couple reportedly sold the rights to their wedding to a magazine that will publish all the photos later. However, some people who attended the wedding shared pictures on social media.
Former teammates of McDavid, Pat Maroon and Zack Kassian, attended with their partners. Kassian's wife, Cassandra, shared a photo of her and Zack with Pat and his partner on her Instagram story.
Current Oilers players Warren Foeglee, Evan Bouchard and Philip Broberg also attended.
Olympian Mark McMorris also attended McDavid's wedding.
Connor McDavid says getting over Cup loss will take some time
Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers made it to the Stanley Cup Final but lost in seven games to the Florida Panthers.
McDavid and the Oilers trailed 3-0 and won three straight games to force a Game 7. But they lost the decider 2-1 and McDavid admitted it would take a while to get over the pain.
"It's obviously disappointing, it's frustrating," McDavid said, via CBC Sports. "There's only one team that can win, unfortunately. But I'm very proud of what we've been through this year ... There were lots of happy moments throughout these playoffs, for sure. A lot of great moments that I'll remember for the rest of my life."
Although they lost, it was a good learning experience for McDavid and the Oilers as they believe they have the group to win the Cup.
"We've sat up here before and told you how bad we want to win and, looking back, we were miles away from it. And now we're one shot away from it," the captain said. "The belief has never been higher, not only within [Draisaitl and I], but within that room, within everybody."
In the offseason, Edmonton added Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson while bringing back Adam Henrique, Connor Brown, Mattias Janmark and Corey Perry.
