Sam Gagner's wife, Rachel Yelena, gave followers a peek into the family's summer day out through her Instagram story. In the first story, Rachel Yelena's friend was photographed sitting and relaxing in a park with two little ones. One is Yelena's daughter, and the other is her friend's daughter. Yelena wrote,

"The sweetest of summer Fridays."

In the next story, she took a picture of her two sons, Cooper and Beckham, and her daughter, Cali, enjoying time with Rachel's two friends, Tyler Liptok and Matt Binnington.

In the third story, she shared a photo of her daughter Cali in a pink Barbie dress posing for the camera.

In the fourth story, she posted a video of her son diving into the water.

In the fifth story, she captured her friend enjoying a bonfire. She wrote,

Dr. Rachel Yelena, wife of Sam Gagner was born on September 5 in Edmonton, Alberta. Rachel comes from a medical family. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2013 and works at a family medical clinic. Her medical background gives her a unique perspective on the challenges athletes face.

In 2013, Rachel, then Sam's fiancée, supported him through a severe injury where he suffered a shattered jaw during an Oilers training camp. Her support played a big role in his recovery, enabling him to return to the ice after missing just 13 games.

Sam is currently an unrestricted free agent. His last contract, a one-year deal worth $775,000, was signed with the Edmonton Oilers in November 2023.

Sam Gagner and Dr. Rachel Yelena married on July 12, 2014, in Muskoka, Ontario. They met in 2008 and dated long-distance when Sam joined the Arizona Coyotes.

Their wedding had a Great Gatsby theme, starting with a dinner on a private steamship. Rachel wore an Inbal Dror gown, and Sam's sister sang at the ceremony.

They exchanged vows at Trinity United Church. The reception had a garden party theme with floral decorations. The celebration ended with a brunch and lake party the next day. The couple then went on a honeymoon trip to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort for five days.
