In Photos: Sam Gagner and wife Rachel celebrate their 10-year anniversary with multiple NHL couples in attendance
NHL veteran Sam Gagner and his wife Rachel Yelena Gagner celebrated their 10-year anniversary with a memorable celebration on July 12. They were joined by many NHL couples who filled the event with joy and laughter.
Among those in attendance were Columbus Blue Jackets alternate captain Erik Gudbranson and his wife Sarah, Buffalo Sabres forward Ryan McLeod and his girlfriend Alexie Andlauer, and Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin together with his wife Kenzy. From the Edmonton Oilers, forward Connor Brown was present along with his wife Madison.
There was a special corner in the event where guests snapped photos with the couple and took home printed copies. Many of them also shared snaps from the evening on their Instagram stories, which Rachel reposted.
Meanwhile, Sam’s daughter Cali was seen vibing to the music in one of the clips that her mother shared. The ladies also had an outdoor party by a lake view arrangement where they made their own wedding pastries.
Ten years of the Gagner's ‘Great Gatsby’ themed wedding
Sam and Rachel had their dream wedding a decade ago, on July 12, 2014. The couple first met in 2008 but didn’t start dating until 2010 due to their busy careers. They eventually got engaged three years later during a romantic holiday in Colorado, where Sam proposed in a beautiful suite overlooking the mountains.
Their wedding took place in Muskoka, Ontario’s Trinity United Church, which was decorated with white and cream flowers. Wearing a gown by Inbal Dror, complemented by diamond jewelry and Prada heels, Rachel walked down the aisle to a string quartet that played "Skinny Love" by Bon Iver.
Her bridesmaids wore sequined dresses in pale gold, while Sam donned a custom light gray suit. The reception, held in an elegantly draped tent at Taboo Muskoka Resort, featured opulent decorations—including crystal chandeliers and lush floral centerpieces. Guests enjoyed mint juleps and dressed in 1920s attire during the wedding's Great Gatsby-themed dinner
The evening included a four-course meal, signature cocktails and live music by The Digs and a DJ. The celebration concluded with a brunch and lake party the next day.
