Jakob Chychrun of the Ottawa Senators proposed to Olivia Ibrahim in a peaceful scenery. He shared the pictures on Instagram. Surrounded by green trees, he got down on one knee and presented her with a ring. She was dressed in a detailed white dress with her hair untied.
The proposal was celebrated with close family and friends. The Ottawa Senators even shared the proposal on their account. Ibrahim, whose instagram handle is @livsmethod, has 19.4K followers. She's a real estate agent at Remax Central and is an influencer.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Ibrahim completed her Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Windsor from 2016 to 2021. There isn't much information about how the couple met and where their relationship began.
A look at Jakob Chychrun's family and their connection to NHL
Born to Nancy and Jeff Chychrun in Boca Raton, Florida, Jakob Chychrun was raised in a very hockey inclined household. His father, Jeff, played in the NHL for eight seasons and his uncle, Luke Richardson, played defense in the NHL and is now the head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks. Jakob is a Canadian and American citizen and his family has Jewish and Ukrainian backgrounds.
Hockey has always been present in Jakob’s life, as his father had a career in this sport. Some of the teams that Jeff played for include the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Los Angeles Kings.
Jakob was exposed to ice hockey at a tender age. Before concentrating solely on hockey, Jakob went to the American Heritage School in Boca Raton.
Jakob Chychrun was traded to the Ottawa Senators in March 2023. It was special for him because his grandfather resides in Ottawa.
The Chychruns faced tragedy when Jakob's cousin, Daron, tragically passed away. This loss made Jakob start a movement known as the 'Do It For Daron' to fight for mental health.
