In Photos: Wayne Gretzky, grandsons Tatum & River alongside Dustin Johnson join Stanley Cup champs Panthers to support Promise Fund NPO
NHL legend Wayne Gretzky attended a recent fishing event supporting the Promise Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to breast and cervical cancer early detection. Gretzky’s son-in-law, LIV golf star Dustin Johnson, grandsons Tatum and River, and the Stanley Cup-winning Florida Panthers gathered to raise awareness and funds for cancer screenings.
On Thursday, Paulina Gretzky posted a series of pictures and images on her Instagram story from the event. She shared a short clip of the attendees preparing to go fishing aboard the boat of PromiseFund.
In one image, Wayne Gretzky, Dustin Johnson, and the Florida Panthers players posed with the iconic Stanley Cup in front of them. The second image showed Gretzky alongside his grandsons, Tatum and River, and Dustin Johnson with the Stanley Cup.
The official Instagram account of Promise Fund also posted a group photo from the event. They wrote:
“Greatness met a great cause today! Huge thanks to @dustinjohnsongolf, @paulinagretzky, Stanley Cup Champions the @flapanthers, and @waynegretzky for joining us in support of the Promise Fund. Together, we’re reeling in hope for breast and cervical cancer early detection screenings and saving lives!”
“The Promise Fund’s mission is to increase survivorship from breast and cervical cancer by providing guided support and access to screenings, early detection, treatment, and beyond. Our model ensures that every woman, regardless of who she is, where she lives, or her income, has the opportunity to receive life-saving health care. That’s our promise.”
Dustin Johnson also posted about the event on his own Instagram account. He wrote:
“Great day fishing with the reigning champs @flapanthers”
Wayne Gretzky attended Ultra Hole Challenge alongside Michael Block
Wayne Gretzky recently took part in the Ultra Hole Challenge near the Royal Montreal Golf Club on Sept. 27. During the event, American pro golfer Michael Block made a hole-in-one, while Gretzky watched.
It wasn’t the first hole-in-one he made in front of Gretzky. Earlier this year, when Block and the NHL legend were shooting a promotional video for the Ultra Hole Challenge, he nailed it four out of five times.
"When we were doing the content shoot, I actually made a hole-in-one with Wayne. I literally met him five minutes before this and we’re sitting there and we’re hitting the shots just for video and stuff and literally on, like the fourth or fifth shot, the ball goes in the hole,” Michael Block told the Canadian press.
Wayne Gretzky often pairs up with Dustin Johnson to try his hand at golf in his leisure. Interestingly, Gretzky himself made a hole-in-one in 2021 during an amateur match at Sherwood Country Club in California.
