Bunting's Instagram story showcased the camaraderie and bond shared among the Leafs stars, offering fans a glimpse into the special occasion that brought the team together off the ice.

Michael Bunting was drafted No. 117 overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2014 NHL draft. After playing two seasons with the Coyotes, he signed with the Leafs on a two-year, $1.9 million contract as a free agent.

Bunting played for two seasons in Toronto before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, where he spent one season. In March of this year, he was dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 28-year-old has accumulated 181 points through 76 goals and 105 assists in 268 career games.

Former Maple Leafs star lauds Mitch Marner

Former Leafs star Ryan O'Reilly recently praised Mitch Marner, lauding him as a great player. O'Reilly, who played 13 playoff games in Toronto, said Marner was a fierce competitor who could do a lot of things very well on the ice.

Reflecting on his experience playing alongside Marner, O'Reilly said:

“He brings so many things. He’s so competitive, but I think just how elusive he is. With the way he can create plays, and just being off balance, and being able to put these pucks in the right areas. Just such a competitor,” O’Reilly said (via TSN.com).
“Getting to play with him in the short time I did, it was just so fun. You see the way he sees the game, at such a unique level," he added.

With Mitch Marner entering the final year of his $65.3 million contract, there are plenty of speculations regarding his future with the Maple Leafs that have dominated off-season discussions.

There has been some speculation over whether he will stay with the team or move elsewhere. Some of the reports are indicative of his split with the organization, but other theories suggest that he might soon land an extension with the Leafs.
