"It didn't feel right to us": Elias Lindholm's wife Annica reveals reason behind naming newborn son Luka over another abundant name
Boston Bruins forward Elias Lindholm and his wife Annica welcomed their second son, Luka, on September 23. During an Instagram Q&A session with her followers, Annica shared how they came to choose “Luka” for the baby’s name.
When asked about the birth of their second child, she mentioned that everything went smoothly, and the medical team was amazing. She said how Elias was by her side, keeping her calm by showing her pictures and videos of their first child, Levi.
One of the questions was about how they chose the name for their baby. In response, Annica shared that they originally wanted to name their child "Leo.”
“So this thing with names is not easy. And we wanted one that worked both in Sweden but also internationally. We liked short names and had Leo since before. But then a lot of people started naming their children that so it didn't feel right to us," Annica wrote. [translated from Swedish]
“But then I told Elias that he got to decide and then it became Luka. And it fit so well, Levi and Luka Lindholm,” she added.
Elias Lindholm’s partner Annica shares their first child’s reaction to his baby sibling
Elias Lindholm and Annica's first son, Levi, is over one year old.
When asked about Levi's reaction to the new baby, she said it was one of the best moments of her life. Levi was excited, running around shouting “baby, baby,” and was eager to interact with his new sibling, which melted her heart.
Annica feels that being a mother of two has completed her life. She said that she feels blessed with her two little boys, an amazing husband, and their family.
“If someone told me that this is what my life would look like I would never ever believe in it. That would be too good to be true. But now it is my life and I am indescribably happy for it,” she wrote.
As for the transition from one to two kids, Annica said it has been manageable so far and also shared that their newborn sleeps a lot. With the help of Elias Lindholm's mom, things have been smooth, but Annica knows that there will be ups and downs when she’s on her own.
