Jesper Bratt's partner Nicole Laus shares team's 'Brattman' tribute to forward at Prudential Center
The New Jersey Devils paid tribute to forward Jesper Bratt during their home game against the New York Islanders at Prudential Center on Friday night. Bratt's partner, Nicole Laud, shared an image on social media of the arena's jumbotron display showing Bratt dressed as "Brattman.”
In the image, Bratt is wearing a Batman mask and with the New Jersey Devils logo on his chest, with the iconic bat signal illuminating the sky.
Bratt scored a goal and provided an assist in the game against the Islanders, however, the Devils faced disappointment as the Islanders ultimately clinched a 4– 3 victory in overtime. The 26-year-old Bratt proposed to his girlfriend Nicole in May during a vacation at the Amanyara resort in Turks and Caicos.
Jesper Bratt discusses the Devils' 4-3 OT loss to the Islanders
The New Jersey Devils and Jesper Bratt battled hard but ultimately fell in overtime to the New York Islanders on Thursday night.
"Missing out on the two points is hard," Bratt said after the loss. "We do a good time fighting us back into a position of getting one point. Towards the end of the season that one point can make a big difference so obviously that was good."
Bratt scored the Devils' third goal to tie the game at 3-3 in the second period. Bratt, Nics Hischier and Curtis Lazar scored for the Devils. Brock Nelson, Kyle Palmieri, Bo Horvat and Anders Lee were the goal scorers for the Islanders. Ilya Sorokin made 32 saves in net for New York while Jake Allen stopped 26 shots for the Devils.
"It’s a little tough coming in here only getting one point out of it," Jesper Bratt added about the overtime loss. "We were millimeters from almost getting two points and coming in here celebrating. Instead, we’re having the feeling we have now.”
Jesper Bratt has scored two goals and provided 9 assists in 11 games this season. The Devils will look to rebound from the disappointing OT loss when they face the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday afternoon at Prudential Center.
