Joe Sacco makes his thoughts about John Tortorella's diving accusations against Bruins players extremely clear

Boston Bruins interim coach Joe Sacco clarified his thoughts regarding John Tortorella's accusations of diving against his player during Saturday's matchup.

The Philadelphia Flyers got off to a solid start, taking a two-goal advantage in the first period. However, after that, the Bruins clawed their way back into the game, with the Flyers squandering the lead and eventually losing 4-3 in overtime.

Flyers coach John Tortorella was furious with some of the calls that went against his side in the game. In total, the Flyers were hit with eight penalties, and Torts, without answering the questions, began his rant about the Bruins players.

“Let me start. One thing I teach my team to do is not dive,” Tortorella said via NESN. “Maybe I should start teaching them that. The way this has gone here, the way this (expletive) goes on, maybe I should teach them to dive.”
“… I’m proud of the way our team played. Did we (expletive) another one away? Yeah, but other people had a little bit to do with that also," he added.

Bruins interim coach Joe Sacco addressed the diving accusations made by the Flyers coach during a media session after practice on Monday. Sacco firmly dismissed the claims, stating:

“That’s not our group. That’s not our team, and that’s not how we play,” Sacco said, per team-provided video. “That’s how I respond to that. That’s not what we’re about.”

Since Sacco took over the interim coach role at Boston following Jim Montgomery's firing, the Bruins have improved significantly, especially their performances in the third period.

Under Sacco, the Boston Bruins have posted a 7-2-0 record and are currently third in the Atlantic Division with 33 points after 29 games. They travel to Canada Life Centre to face the Winnipeg Jets next on Tuesday.

How Boston Bruins downed Philadelphia Flyers

At 5:26 of the second period, Trent Frederic's power play goal cut the deficit to 2-1 for the home team. With less than five minutes into the period, Can York put the Flyers up 3-1 before heading into the third period.

Frederic scored his second for Boston to make it 3-2 before Brad Marchand's goal at 14:38 tied the game 3-3, forcing overtime. Pavel Zacha scored the winner for Boston in 2:49 overtime to seal a 4-3 win for the team.
