Johnny Gaudreau's widow Meredith appreciates late Jimmy Hayes' son Beau's Calgary Flame-inspired artwork of No. 13

Calgary Flames’ Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew Gaudreau died in a tragic accident while cycling on Aug. 29 in New Jersey. The untimely death of the two talented hockey professionals shook the entire community. Meredith, widow of Johnny Gaudreau, recently shared appreciation for an art work by late NHL player Jimmy Hayes’ son, Beau.

On Wednesday, Kristen Hayes posted a picture of a piece of artwork paying tribute to Gaudreau's No. 13 Calgary Flames jersey drawn by her son for school. In the caption, she wrote:

After a 6-3 Columbus Blue Jackets preseason win against the Buffalo Sabres last month, Johnny Gaudrea’s longtime teammate Sean Monahan spoke to the media about the moment he first walked into the locker room and saw Johnny Gaudreau's jersey hanging up.

“Not gonna lie, it was pretty heavy walking in to see Johnny's jersey hanging here for the first time. It was nice to get out there and play, so get the first one out of way."
"I mean look at it, it brings back a lot of memories, smiles, laughs," he reflected. "Today is the first time seeing it, so obviously a little bit different but, yeah, I mean anytime I see his stuff around the locker room and what not it brings back good memories for me."

In response to Monahan's comments, Meredith Gaudreau shared her sentiment on X. She quoted Brian Hedger’s tweet reporting Sean Moanhan’s words, and wrote:

"John's favorite guy in the world."

Johnny Gaudreau's family celebrates two-year-old daughter Noa's birthday

On what should have been a joyful occasion, Meredith Gaudreau found a way to honor her late husband Johnny Gaudreau while celebrating their daughter Noa's second birthday. A little over a month after Johnny’s tragic passing in a cycling accident, the Gaudreau family gathered together for the special occasion.

The family gathering took place outdoors in a small farm-themed event. Meredith shared pictures of the day on Instagram including one where Noa, wearing a princess crown, was seen blowing out the candles on her birthday cake.

One of the most memorable images shared by Meredith showed Noa dressed in an outfit that featured Johnny Gaudreau’s iconic No. 13.

The man responsible for the crash, 43-year-old Sean M. Higgins, admitted to drinking multiple beers before getting behind the wheel and causing the fatal accident. He now faces serious charges, and his trial is underway.
