Johnny Gaudreau's widow Meredith touched by BC Hockey's heartwarming remembrance of brothers
Meredith Gaudreau, widow of late Calgary Flames player Johnny Gaudreau, shared an emotional reaction to a recent tribute by Boston College Hockey. The college added the initials of Johnny and his brother Matthew Gaudreau to the boards at Conte Forum in remembrance of their contributions to the Boston College Eagles.
Spittin’ Chiclets posted the news on Instagram, with a picture showing the tribute of the initials "JG" and "MG" on the boards beside Tony Voce's initials.
“BC has added Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau’s + Tony Voce’s initials to the boards in Conte ❤️ @bc_mhockey”, the caption read.
Meredith reposted this tribute on her Instagram story with two heart emojis. She wrote,
"This means a lot ."
Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau tragically died in a cycling accident when they were hit by a truck. Both the Gaudreau brothers had ties with Boston College, where they played NCAA hockey for the Eagles.
In another of her stories, Meredith shared an interview clip of Johnny Gaudreau where he was speaking about the surprise he received from his wife and family on his 30th birthday. Meredith called him her "most prized possession" and the "love of my life forever” in the caption of her story.

On Saturday, Meredith also shared a few heartwarming moments from a family trip with her children to a farm. Johnny Gaudreau's mother, Jane, his sister Katie, and his father Guy joined them for the outing.
Meredith posted a couple of pictures of the family together on her story. They went riding on an off-road vehicle which Guy drove on the farm.
"Super fun day today for the kiddos with the fam 🧡," Meredith Gaudreau wrote in the caption.
In another sweet moment, Meredith reposted Katie Gaudreau’s story which shared a picture of Noa playing with a toy medical set. It was captioned as "Dr. Gaudreau," calling her both a vet and pediatrician.
Earlier on Sep. 30, the family had gathered together on the occasion of Noa's second birthday. It was an intimate family affair and Meredith shared a few old pictures of Johnny Gaudreau spending time with his daughter.
