Johnny Gaudreau's wife Meredith shares adorable picture of Sean Monahan holding 'baby Johnny'

Meredith Gaudreau, the wife of late Columbus Blue Jackets player Johnny Gaudreau, posted a touching photo on Sunday where Sean Monahan held their baby, Johnny. Monahan wore a hoodie with "Gaudreau" in front of it. Meredith captioned it:

“Uncle Muncy with the special touch for baby Johnny.”

Monahan also received the first "donkey" cap after the Blue Jackets’ 6-4 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. It is special because it honors Johnny, who died in August. Johnny and his brother Matthew died in a bike crash caused by a driver under the influence. The team added a "13" patch to the cap in memory of Johnny's jersey number.

After the game, Monahan talked about the emotional meaning of it.

"Yeah I know, I mean be honest, it's emotional." Manohan said to the media per SK. "It's nice. I mean, it's nice to get our first win. You feel the love from this organization. I feel the love from my teammates and obviously I can feel the love from John (Johnny)."

Monahan played well as he scored a power-play goal and added two assists.

Blue Jackets coach Dean Evason praised Monahan for his leadership and chemistry with his linemates. Evason also said he is easy to play with because he does all the little things right and has a calm demeanor and strong leadership.

Erik's wife Sarah Gudbranson, shared pictures of their children, Bennett and Zoey wearing custom sweaters with Johnny Gaudreau's No. 13. The sweaters were a gift from Erik's sister, Lauryn.

"Always for #13 🤍 The most thoughtful and special season opening day delivery from the best Auntie." -Sarah Gudbranson on Instagram.

Meredith reshared it and added, "Love these little guys."

She then shared an NHL post of Calgary Flames goalie Dustin Wolf who wore a custom mask for Johnny. She thanked him and captioned it with:

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

Blue Jackets goalie Elvis Merzlikins also honored Johnny Gaudreau by painting No. 13 on his mask while the team hung his jersey in the locker room during their opening game against the Minnesota Wild.
