Julie & Jeff Petry's son Boyd celebrates his ninth birthday in style at Tigers' Comerica Park

Defenseman Jeff Petry of the Detroit Red Wings celebrated his son Boyd's ninth birthday. The pictures from the birthday celebration were shared by Petry's wife Julie on her Instagram story.

Julie shared one picture, which featured Boyd standing in front of his birthday gifts. There was a balloon in the shape of the number 9 in the background along with gifts like a bicycle, and some wrapped-up goodies. Boyd was standing with a smile on his face, as Julie's caption read,

"This is nine"

Julie also shared a picture of Boyd's birthday cake and captioned it,

"Best day celebrating our boy"

Later Julie and Boyd headed to an arcade with Boyd's friends to play a Star Trek game. Julie shared a message,

"from Dave & Busters with some buddies."

She also shared pictures from Comerica Park, which is home to the Detroit Tigers baseball team. The screen there displayed a welcome message for Boyd Petry. Julie shared,

"I'd say it was the best day ever for this 9 year old."

Subsequently, Julie shared another clip of Boyd's fist-bumping his friend along with a message "& his bros".

She shared a picture of her youngest son Blake playing in the dirt and wrote,

"Blake had his fun too".

She shared a clip of Jeff Petry taking a baseball shot and wrote, "Can't forget dad".

ulie also posted a Petry family picture with the big screen in the background saying "Welcome Petry family." Julie thanked those who made the day possible for "the fun afternoon at the ballpark."

Finally, Julie shared a special message for Boyd’s birthday,

“Last but not least, I leave you with one of the million classic Boyd videos he has gifted us with because l have gone down a rabbit hole of photos while everyone sleeps because I can't believe he is nine.”

Jeff Petry enjoys family vacation in Chicago

On Aug. 4, 2024, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Jeff Petry and his family enjoyed a trip to Chicago. His wife Julie Petry posted pictures on Instagram. They started at The Bean (Cloud Gate) where their three older kids stretched out under the sculpture. Julie joked about their antics calling them "Feral children @ the bean."

As they rode the subway to explore the city, they bumped into one of Petry's teammates, Red Wings forward J.T. Compher, by chance. Compher picked up one of Jeff Petry's sons creating a memorable moment. Julie also shared a photo of Blake, the youngest, napping in his stroller, with the caption "and he's out."

The family then headed to Wrigley Field to watch a Cubs vs. Cardinals game. They had a blast as "Cubs fans for the day," Julie noted. After the game, they checked into their hotel at 4:37 P.M. but chose to keep going.

They went up to Willis Tower Skydeck where the kids danced with Chicago's skyline behind them. They wrapped up their day at the beach, with Jeff, without a shirt spending time with his kids.
