"Looked phenomenal naked": Brad Marchand drops hilarious response to David Pastrnak's status after Bruins forward's reported injury

Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand gave a hilarious reply to reporters questioning star forward David Pastrnak's condition. Pastrnak left the game against the Washington Capitals with an upper-body injury on Monday. He left in the second period and did not return.

Pastrnak got hurt after a collision with Capitals forward Tom Wilson early in the second period. He skated off the ice slowly and seemed uncomfortable on the bench. He briefly returned to the ice but went to the locker room soon after. The team later said Pastrnak was unlikely to return and he did not play again.

Pastrnak has had a strong season, with 12 goals and 23 assists in 35 games. After the game, Brad Marchand was asked:

"Did you see Pasta after, how did he look?"

Marchand responded with a joke, saying:

"He looked phenomenal naked. (laughter breaks out among reporters). I saw him in the shower. Want me to go on?"

Like David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand has also been a big offensive contributor to the Bruins this season. Marchand has scored 15 goals and 15 assists in 36 games this season. He’s been strong in wins, with 24 points in 19 games with a plus-minus of 10. In losses, his production has been lower, with only six points in 17 games, and has been -8 defensively.

Marchand is in his second season as the Bruins' captain. He is also playing the final year of his eight-year, $49 million contract. If he gets an extension, it would stop him from reaching free agency next summer.

Meanwhile, coach Joe Sacco confirmed that Pastrnak had an undisclosed upper-body injury.

"He left the game with an upper-body injury," Sacco said to media after Capitals game, per NESN. "I'll get more details on it either later tonight or tomorrow."

For now, the fans can only hope that it's not too severe.

Brad Marchand's 3-point performance secured the win for the Bruins

The Boston Bruins won 4-1 against the Washington Capitals on Monday. Justin Brazeau scored first, putting in a rebound on the power play. Jakub Vrana tied it 1-1 for Washington with a power-play one-timer in the second period.

In the third, Elias Lindholm gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead with a backhand goal on a 2-on-1 rush. Charlie Coyle made it 3-1, tapping in Marchand’s shot after it hit the post. Brad Marchand scored an empty-net goal at 18:38 to seal the win.

Jeremy Swayman made 10 saves for the Bruins. Charlie Lindgren stopped 18 shots for Washington.
