"Love my new bestie so much" - Brady Tkachuk's sister Taryn sends heartfelt wishes to Brady and Emma following their baby boy’s arrival
Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk and his wife, Emma, had their first child, Ryder Keith Tkachuk, on Monday. Ryder weighed nine pounds and five ounces. Brady and Emma Tkachuk shared the news of their newborn on Instagram.
"Ryder Keith Tkachuk, our whole world September 16, 2024, 9lb 5oz," they captioned the post.
Brady Tkachuk’s sister, Taryn, posted a video call screenshot on Instagram showing Brady holding his newborn.
"Congrats Brady and Emma," Taryn wrote and added, "Love my new bestie already."
Brady Tkachuk celebrates his birthday on the same day as his son. Ryder's middle name, Keith, is a tribute to Brady's dad, who used to play in the NHL. Brady Tkachuk's jersey number might have inspired some fans to hope for a name related to it, but Ryder's arrival is still a big deal.
Matthew Tkachuk was excited to become uncle and hoped to be godfather of Brady Tkachuk's baby
Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk and his wife, Emma, shared on March they are expecting their first child. To announce the baby's gender, Brady Tkachuk used a cake with blue frosting. He captured the reveal on video and shared it with his family.
"We did the cake, and yeah, I saw the color blue in the cup, and it was pretty cool," Brady Tkachuk said in March (via Sportsnet). "I'm not going to lie, it's pretty special. I sent the video to our family so they can kind of see the reactions to this, I'd say pretty special, of course. We're so lucky and so blessed for it to happen to us, and we're just excited for come September now."
Brady’s older brother and Florida Panthers winger Matthew Tkachuk was excited to become an uncle. He hoped to be the godfather.
"He's fired up. He's already expecting to be a godfather. So he already said that right away. So that's his expectation, and he'll be disappointed if not, so we'll have to figure out what to do," Brady Tkachuk added.
Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, even with their NHL rivalry, stayed close from their childhood in St. Louis.
