Mike Commodore berates Patrik Laine's "f***ing milking cow" appearance during Montreal Canadiens initiation
Former NHLer Mike Commodore on Sunday shared his thoughts on Patrik Laine's outfit choice during the Montreal Canadiens initiation ceremony. Laine made his first appearance in the team's locker room at the Bell Centre earlier this month to try on the Habs' jersey. However, Commodore was not impressed with Laine's choice of sweatpants.
He took to X/Twitter to voice his disapproval, referring to Patrik Laine's outfit in a derogatory manner and suggesting that he found it unflattering and inappropriate for the occasion. Commodore wrote:
"Folks..I meant to comment on this weeks ago..I am trying to not to sound like an old crusty prick…but in what world is it ok to show up looking like a f*****g milking cow for your first look as a Montreal Canadien…un vache tabarnak."
Patrik Laine joined the Montreal Canadiens following his trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets in August. He made a casual yet stylish entrance during his first visit to the Habs locker room.
Laine wore a white hoodie along with Marimekko's Varret Pieni Unikko Kioski sweatpants, valued at $147, and a light pink baseball cap. He then casually slipped the Habs' #92 jersey over his hoodie.
"I'm just super excited to be here": Patrik Laine excited to play for the Habs
Laine expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Canadiens, highlighting the excitement of playing in such a passionate hockey market.

"I feel like there's no better place to play in terms of a hockey market, so I'm super excited obviously to be here and finally to have these fans be on my side for once," Laine said. "You know it's not fun to come here as a visitor, that's for sure."
"I'm just super excited to be here and obviously getting to play at one of the greatest rinks in hockey and in front of probably the best fans in the world. So it should be great."
Laine was drafted No. 2 overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2016 NHL draft. He has accumulated 388 points through 204 goals and 184 assists in 480 career games. The Finnish sniper is expected to make his Habs debut in the preseason against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
