"Miller being selfish cost us the game": Fans rip into 2 Vancouver Canucks players for "choke job" in OT loss to Utah Hockey Club
Fans on social media expressed their disappointment with Tyler Myers and J. T. Miller of the Vancouver Canucks following the 3-2 overtime loss to the Utah Hockey Club on Wednesday.
Defenseman Myers faced significant criticism for taking a cross-checking penalty with less than five minutes remaining in the regulation period. The penalty allowed Utah to capitalize on the power play and tie the game at 2-2.
Meanwhile, forward Millerfaced scrutiny for his errant saucer pass that missed Conor Garland, which led to an odd-man rush for Utah, eventually resulting in the game-winning goal.
Here's how fans on X/Twitter reacted to the Vancouver Canucks' overtime loss to Utah Hockey Club, with one tweeting:
"Miller being selfish cost us the game."
Another chimed in:
"People gonna be mad for the wrong reasons it shouldn't have even gone to ot Myers can't be taking a penalty in the final 5 minites of regulation in a 1 goal game even if it was a but soft. They get a lucky bounce and they got all the momentum."
Here are some of the other top reactions on X:
"JT Miller tried to be the hero in overtime. Instead of changing after being out there for over 3 minutes total, decides to stay on, gassed, and throws a grenade across the ice," a second fan posted.
"JT Miller is absolute trash, stays out late rather than changing and loses his team the game. How do you trade Pettersson over him," another disgruntled fan tweeted.
"Tyler Myers playing the ‘I’m just gonna stand here and do nothing’ defense on that goal," another chimed in.
"Tyler Myers just a bum man. What a stupid fucking penalty to take," another posted.
