In an intense heavyweight bout during the second period, Blue Jackets center Mathieu Olivier faced off against Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler after Olivier delivered a hard hit on Emil Andrae earlier in the game.
The two players dropped the gloves and exchanged heavy punches at center ice. However, it was Olivier who had the last laugh as he was able to take down Nick Seeler with a series of good right-hand punches.

Initially, Olivier received a major penalty for elbowing, but after a lengthy review, the penalty was downgraded to a minor infraction. Both Seeler and Olivier were hit with five-minute major penalties for fighting.
