“My strong girls”: Johnny Gaudreau’s wife Meredith reacts to daughter Noa joining NJ All Star Dance with aunt Katie
Late NHL star Johnny Gaudreau’s two-year-old daughter Noa has resumed dance classes with the New Jersey All Star Dance team in Pedricktown. Noa was accompanied by her aunt, Katie Gaudreau, who shared a series of sweet photos and videos of her little niece.
On Tuesday, Katie posted a carousel of pictures and clips on her Instagram account from their visit to ASD In New Jersey where Noa enjoyed her dance practice. She captioned the post, writing:
“My heart & soul. Aunt Katie’s girls take on ASD.”
Meredith shared Katie’s post on her Instagram stories. She added a sweet note of her own in the caption, expressing her pride.
“My strong girls,” Meredith wrote, along with a star and pink heart emoji.
The Gaudreau family has been grieving since August 29, when Johnny and his brother Matthew tragically passed away in a cycling accident after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. Since then, the entire community has come together to commemorate the legacy of the beloved stars.
In another story, Katie posted an old photo of Johnny helping Noa fix her hair before dance practice, with the caption:
“Best dance dad. & the painted fingernails (best girl dad).”
Meredith shared this post as well on her Instagram story. In the caption, she added:
“We love you Daddy”
Derek Dorsett’s son Dylan wears No. 13 in Johnny Gaudreau’s honor
Meredith Gaudreau reposted an Instagram story on Saturday showing former Columbus Blue Jackets forward Derek Dorsett’s son, Dylan, wearing a No. 13 Golden Bears lacrosse jersey in honor of Johnny.
The original post, shared by Derek’s wife Ali Dorsett’s brother Ryan Humbert, featured Dylan in the No. 13 jersey. Ali captioned the image, writing:
“#13 for Johnny” and a yellow heart emoji.
Meredith, visibly touched, showed her appreciation for the youngster’s gesture. She reshared the post on her Instagram story, adding:
“Love you Dylan! 13 looks good on you,” with two yellow heart emojis.
Since Johnny and his brother Matthew’s tragic passing in a biking accident on August 29, the hockey community has found ways to keep his memory alive. Earlier, Erik Gudbranson's wife Sarah shared pictures of their children Bennett and Zoey wearing custom No. 13 sweaters in Johnny's honor.
Meredith also recently expressed gratitude towards Johnny’s close friend Sean Monahan, who has been a support system for the family since his friend’s passing. Monahan has been honoring Johnny by engraving “JG” on every hockey stick he uses and also dedicated his debut goal in a Columbus Blue Jackets shirt during their home opener.
