Panthers' Eetu Luostarinen relaxes by a Finnish lake with family on his special day with Stanley Cup
Florida Panthers forward Eetu Luostarinen and his wife Tiia Luostarinen enjoyed a day with the Stanley Cup. As per the convention, Luostarinen received the cup for one day from Phil Pritchard, the keeper of the Stanley Cup.
On Monday, Luostarinen celebrated the Stanley Cup championship in Kuopio, Finland, and Tiia shared the pictures on Instagram.
In the picture, Luostarinen was in a swimming pool, holding the Stanley Cup with his wife and friends. The infinite swimming pool, technically connected with Lake Kallavesi, gave a perfect view.
They also sat on the cozy chairs by the pool to bask and enjoy the scenic view after their bath. But the attention was off the view due to the cup's presence. Luostarinen and Tiia were looking at the cup placed on a third chair between the couple.
Later that day, the couple cut a life-sized cake of the Stanley Cup. It had the stickers of the Florida Panthers logo and Luostarinen's jersey number 27.
Former Panthers forward & front office member Patric Hornqvist celebrated his day with the cup
Patric Hornqvist, a former NHL player, enjoyed a special day with the Stanley Cup in Sweden. He won back-to-back championships with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017. Now, he works as a scout and development consultant for the Florida Panthers.
"You can’t compare." Hornqvist said (via NHL.com) "There is a big difference between being on the ice and being in the management suite. On the ice, you can control what happens. I scored the game winning goal in one of the finals with Pittsburgh and you can't compare that to what it's like to win from the stands."
Hornqvist celebrated quietly with his family by the water. He even let his kids use the cup as a candy dish. He remembered the Panthers' dramatic 2023 playoff run, confident they wouldn't lose Game 7 after leading the series 3-0 and then tying it 3-3 with the Edmonton Oilers.
