Panthers' Paul Maurice, Bobrovsky among others shouted out by U.S. Senate over Stanley Cup success
The Florida Panthers celebrated their Stanley Cup win this summer. The team shared the Stanley Cup, with the trophy traveling across North America. And now it has made its way through Sweden and Finland.
Recently, Florida received unexpected recognition from the U.S. Senate. Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio from Florida introduced a resolution to honor the team's accomplishment. The resolution was passed unanimously.
"Commending and congratulating the Florida Panther non winning the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. Whereas, on June 24, 2024, the Florida (referred to in this preamble as the "Panthers") won the 2024 Na- tional Hockey League (referred to in this preamble as the "NHL") Stanley Cup Final; Whereas the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Final is the first Stan- ley Cup Final won by the Panther in the 30-year history of the Panther franchise." The resolutions reads (via THN).
The resolution talked about several key individuals. It praised Sam Reinhart and Sergei Bobrovsky for their All-Star selections and recognized Sasha Barkov for winning the Selke Trophy. It also acknowledged the contributions of Vincent Viola and his family, Matthew Caldwell, Bill Zito and Florida coach Paul Maurice.
The Senate requested that the Secretary of the Senate send an enrolled copy of this resolution to the Panthers' ownership, management, and coaching staff.

Florida Panthers forward celebrated day with the Stanley Cup
Florida Panthers forward Anton Lundell celebrated his Stanley Cup win in Helsinki, Finland. He took the Cup to Helsinki Ice Hall, where he started his hockey career with HIFK. Lundell shared the trophy with friends, family and former teammates.
Over 3,400 fans attended the event, surpassing the original 2,500 tickets available. His father, Jan Lundell, who also played for HIFK and won the Finnish championship in 2011, was there. He noted that Anton grew up around the arena, which shaped his hockey journey.
Anton recalled that watching his father win in 2011 inspired his dream of winning a championship. Before the public event, Anton took the Cup home and to a sauna.
