Patrik Laine's fiancee Jordan Leigh reveals her diagnosis of Hashimoto's disease
Patrik Laine's fiancee Jordan Leigh shared her Hashimoto's disease diagnosis on Instagram on Thursday. The autoimmune disorder gradually destroys the thyroid gland.
She posted a video of herself working out, including weight training and resistance exercises. In the video, Jordan explained her journey, mentioning being diagnosed with early-stage Hashimoto's in April after experiencing weight gain and low energy. Despite earlier misdiagnoses of depression, Jordan felt that something was wrong.
A family member with a similar experience helped her find a specialist who confirmed her condition through detailed blood tests.
Jordan Leigh now focuses on anti-inflammatory foods and habits rather than intense workouts. Her caption describes the mental and emotional adjustments she has made as she thanked her coach and fans for their help. She captioned her post:
"Back in the gym and this time there’s a twist. Life/ health update ❤️ I took a break from being Jordan Leigh “fit” for the summer after a scary but enlightening early stage hashimotos diagnosis last spring (more on this later because it’s been a wild year with this mentally and emotionally)...."
Leigh's message encourages others to advocate for their own health. She also shared her focus on training for her wedding and a half marathon, sharing her new approach to fitness and health. Her experience points to the need for second opinions and proactive healthcare.
Jordan Leigh talked about moving to Montreal with Patrik Laine
Patrik Laine has moved from the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Montreal Canadiens. His fiancee Jordan Leigh shared her feelings in an Instagram video on Tuesday.
Leigh, nervous about meeting the Canadiens' partners, noted their warm reception. She has relocated six times with Laine and views it as a part of the hockey lifestyle.
“The crazy thing is, too, since moving into Columbus last year with Patty, I literally have moved six times,” Leigh said.
“But I think that that's just kind of part of the lifestyle when you are with a hockey player, you know, especially when they're going through, like, a transition phase and you learn to be really adaptable and you kind of look at it as everything is a new adventure."
Leigh also praised Patrik Laine for his supportive actions. On Instagram, she mentioned how he handled chores and let her rest.
The couple, engaged earlier this offseason, is planning their wedding for June 2025. Leigh is excited about settling in Montreal and appreciates Laine's care and support.
