Leafs stars Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner at Michael Bunting's wedding
Toronto Maple Leafs stars Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and their teammates celebrated Michael Bunting's wedding earlier in July. Bunting married his long-time girlfriend, Jordan McDonell. They have been together since March 2018.
The wedding festivities were shared on social media. Bunting's Instagram story showed the Leafs players celebrating together. This created a reunion atmosphere for the team.
Bunting was drafted 117th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2014 NHL draft. After two seasons with the Coyotes, he signed with the Leafs on a two-year, $1.9 million contract. Bunting played for two seasons in Toronto before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes. He then moved to the Pittsburgh Penguins in March of this year.
In his career, Bunting has scored 76 goals and made 105 assists in 268 games. His wedding was a special event that brought the team together off the ice.
Marner's unpredictable future in Toronto
Marner is entering the last year of his six-year, $65.41 million contract with the Leafs. His future with the team has been a topic of discussion. Despite the rumors, he is likely to stay due to his no-move clause for the 2024-25 season.
Marner had 26 goals and 59 assists in 69 games last season. He added a goal and two assists in the playoffs against the Boston Bruins.
