Pittsburgh Penguins lands partnership deal with $270.67 billion beverage brand: Report

On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Penguins revealed ABARTA Coca Cola Beverages as their official drink provider at PPG Paints Arena and UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex. A family owned company, ABARTA Coca Cola Beverages distributes Coca Cola products exclusively across most of Pennsylvania, with service extending to parts of West Virginia and Ohio.

According to Forbes, The Coca Cola Company is valued at $270.67 billion. As per the deal, Coca Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Seagram’s will be exclusively available at the Penguins' venues . Additionally, Minute Maid Lemonade, Gold Peak, and Fanta Orange will also be offered.

Penguins President of Business Operations, Kevin Acklin is excited about the new partnership.

“The Penguins are thrilled to enter into a new partnership with Coca Cola and offer our fans and guests of PPG Paints Arena a wide variety of Coke beverages,” Kevin Acklin said (via NHL.com).

Acklin said it would enhance the fan experience.

“The addition of Coca Cola products strongly complements our wide array of food and beverage offerings while enhancing our goal to provide the best overall fan experience in sports,” Acklin added.

The 200s level area of the PPG Paints Arena will now be branded with Coca Cola. Fans can expect Coca Cola themed activities, promotions, giveaways, and community projects.


Jim Dinderman commits to collaboration with Pittsburgh Penguins for community enhancement

COO of ABARTA Coca-Cola Beverages, Jim Dinderman, pointed out their commitment to building a collaborative relationship with the Penguins and enhancing community programs.

"We are excited to partner with the Pittsburgh Penguins as they welcome the portfolio of Coca-Cola Beverages to PPG Paints Arena," Jim Dinderman said (via NHL.com).
"Additionally, we are excited to build a collaborative relationship, enhance community initiatives, and create elevated and exciting programming for the arena and fans in Pittsburgh," Dinderman added.

Both organizations will focus on sustainability goals. This includes Coca-Cola's vision of a "World Without Waste." Coca Cola aims to make all packaging recyclable by 2025. They plan to use 50% recycled material by 2030. They also aim to collect a bottle or can for each one sold by 2030.


Pittsburgh Penguins name Wes Clark Vice President of player personnel

On Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins named Wes Clark Vice President of Player Personnel. Clark, previously with the Toronto Maple Leafs, brings extensive experience in NHL Draft direction and amateur scouting, having also made significant contributions to the Florida Panthers and the Soo Greyhounds.

A graduate of the University of Maine, Clark will play an important role in strengthening the Penguins' roster with young talent. He will look after the scouting departments and report to General Manager Kyle Dubas.
