"Playing out of their minds": Paul Bissonnette heaps praises upon 'three headed monster' of Maple Leafs
On Episode 536 of "Spittin’ Chiclets," host Paul Bissonnette praised the Toronto Maple Leafs for their strong performance this season. Speaking to co-host Ryan Whitney, Bissonnette highlighted Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews and William Nylander, calling them a "three-headed monster."
"The core four are fucking playing out of their minds right now...," Bissonnette said. "The other night, they put the three headed monster together, Marner Matthews and Nylander.[It] has been fucking unbelievable too. " [55:40]
Bissonnette also pointed to the team’s depth and overall buy-in. He said their improved structure and coaching are making a big difference.
"So as far as a core four perspective, as far as depth and other guys contributing, I mean, you got fucking patch already running guys. So it goes back to coaching and the buy-in," 'Biz' said.
Addressing online critics, he added,
"If you’re watching this team and don’t see it feels different, you’re out of your mind.”
"You least fu***ng haters, you losers online, who, every time I tweet out our year, you fu***ng s**t all over me," Biz said. "If you can't tell me you're watching this team and it doesn't feel different, you're out of your fu***ng mind and all of a sudden now we not only have [Anthony] Stolarz, who's proven himself a big enough sample size where it's like, oh, f**k this guy, this guy could fucking play."
The Maple Leafs have a record of 19-10-2 and they are placed first in the Atlantic Division with 40 points. Followed by the Florida Panthers with 40 points and Boston with 35.
Toronto Maple Leafs' performance this season so far
The Toronto Maple Leafs are performing well this season, being among the top teams. They have a Goals Against per game of 2.61, ranking 6th in the league. Their Penalty Kill percentage is 82.1%, ranking 7th.
The Maple Leafs have won four out of their last seven games, and if we count their performance in the last 18 games, they have lost only five games. They are expecting to make a deep playoff run this season and change their playoff fate. The Leafs have qualified past the first round of the playoffs only once since 2004, and that was in the 2022-23 NHL season.
With a new coach, Craig Berube, at the helm, they have once again instilled hope in their fans. It would be interesting to if they are able to keep their performance going as the season gets more intense.
