Quinn Hughes reveals why he opted to star in Amazon's 'FACEOFF: Inside the NHL' despite prioritizing his privacy
Quinn Hughes prefers to remain private, but agreed to be part of the Amazon docuseries FACEOFF: Inside the NHL. Through the series, Amazon gives fans an inside look at the sport they know and love, including access to players.
Hughes hesitated initially but eventually agreed to let cameras have access to the side of his private life. At the NHL's player media tour, he said via the Athletic:
“I like my privacy. I like going back to Michigan (in the summer). Nobody hears anything about me for three months. So the Box to Box thing wasn’t something I had to do. But when I heard the other guys that were doing it, it’s like, ‘If these guys are doing it, how am I going to say no?'”
Other players such as David Pastrnak, William Nylander, and Connor McDavid also signed on, so Hughes felt that he could do it too. After all, he's also one of the NHL 25 cover stars.
William Nylander praises FACEOFF: Inside the NHL ahead of launch
This October, fans will be able to watch some of the best hockey players in the world in a new and unique light. When FACEOFF: Inside the NHL drops on Amazon, they will see sides of these players they never saw before.
William Nylander was surprised by some of what he saw from his counterparts. That's what he enjoyed about it, though, according to The Athletic:
“That’s what is fun about the show and being able to see that aspect of the game. Without the cameras there, nobody would know what was going on. You saw a scene with Connor (McDavid) in the locker room too. That’s just your emotion that everybody is looking for in players.”
The series will officially go live on October 4, just a few days before the NHL regular season begins.
