New Jersey Devils re-sign Kurtis MacDermid to three-year, $3.45 million contract
The New Jersey Devils have re-signed forward Kurtis MacDermid to a three-year contract worth $3.45 million. The contract details are:
- $1.25 million for 2024–25
- $1.2 million for 2025–26
- $1 million for 2026–27
Last season, MacDermid recorded two goals and three points in 45 games. MacDermid was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche for a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft and forward Zakhar Bardakov.
MacDermid has accumulated 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) in 365 NHL regular-season games with the Devils, Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings. He signed this new contract while in the final season of a two-year deal with Colorado, which he signed on April 5, 2022.
MacDermid had one assist and 50 penalty minutes in 16 games with New Jersey following his trade on March 1. He also scored two goals in 29 games with Colorado before the trade. Although part of the Avalanche's 2022 Stanley Cup-winning team, he did not play during the postseason.
