Seth Jarvis issues a 3-word statement after Carolina Hurricanes defeat Dallas Stars in his first game since return from injury
Carolina Panthers star Seth Jarvis had a strong return to action against the Dallas Stars on Monday. The 22-year-old scored his fifth goal of the season after returning from injury that saw him miss the last seven games for the Canes.
Seth Jarvis suffered what was labeled as an upper body injury. No details were provided but the centre had to remain home nursing his injury while the Canes were on a road trip that saw them drop two games against the New Jersey Devils and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Upon return, Jarvis opened the scoring for his team when he tied it 1-1 with a goal during power play at 6:36 in the first period. It came off his backhand with Sebastian Aho turning assist provider. Aho had two more assists and a goal in the game. The Canes scored five times in the last period with a go-ahead sixth goal by Jarvis' linemate Martin Necas to seal their team's 15th win of the season.
A jubilant Jarvis took to Instagram to showcase his appreciation for his teammates. On his story, he posted a picture of himself celebrating in front of the Carolina bench and wrote:
"Fun with Friends"
Seth Jarvis felt better than he expected upon return
After the game, Seth Jarvis stated that he didn't anticipate he would feel the comfort that he did while getting back on the ice. He was satisfied with his performance and felt it was the perfect way to get back into shape for the rest of the season.
“I felt better than I initially felt like I was going to,” said Jarvis. “It was honestly just getting used to the speed again. You’re not used to guys flying at you after two weeks of stick-handling through cones. It was a good game to kick it off.”
With a solitary goal and two assists, Jarvis has earned 14 points in the season. He would be looking to come close to his 67 points tally that he earned last season.
Meanwhile, Carolina are one point behind the Devils for the lead of the Metropolitan Division but have played three games less. They face two solid teams in the New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers next.
