Sharks' Tyler Toffoli and wife Cat attend Silicon Valley Pride parade
San Jose Sharks forward Tyler Toffoli is known for being vocal about different initiatives on and off the field. In February, he was seen taking part in the Hockey Fights Cancer initiative. This offseason he was spotted in Silicon Valley participating in the LGBTQ+ Pride Parade and Festival. Toffoli was representing the San Jose Sharks's support for the cause.
Teal City Crew shared a picture of Tyler interacting with another Silicon Valley Pride Parade participant who was there with drums. He was wearing a Sharks jersey with pride colors. The caption of the post, read:
"We can't thank Tyler Toffoli enough for representing @SanJoseSharks at @PrideSV ! He was TCC scarfed, this was the FIRST time he ever wore a Sharks jersey, AND he is the FIRST #SJSharks player to attend the parade."
Toffoli was there with his wife, Cat Belanger. She posted pictures with the San Jose Sharks mascot in which both her and Tyler's head was in the mascot shark's jaws. She captioned the post:
"Sunday funday 🩵🦈"
Tyler Toffoli's wife Cat Belanger earlier shared her relocating experience
Tyler Toffoli signed a four-year, $24 million contract with the San Jose Sharks on July 1. This new contract marks a key moment in Toffoli’s career. It also means a big change for his wife, Cat Belanger.
Belanger shared their moving experience on Instagram. On August 11, she posted about the challenges of unpacking in their new home. One photo showed many boxes, while another showed packing debris. She noted the difficulty of moving frequently, saying:
"7 teams since 2020 - unpacking is chaotic in the most therapeutic way."
Toffoli is excited about joining the Sharks and their rebuilding process. He appreciates the team’s recent draft picks and the supportive fan base.
"I think the opportunity was there for me, and obviously the rebuild they have started," Toffoli said (via NHL.com on July 02, 2024). "And the draft that they just had, they drafted a couple of guys who are cornerstones for the organization. So, it's an exciting time. Obviously, I started my career in L.A. Knowing how passionate the fan base is definitely encouraged me to make my decision."
Sharks GM Mike Grier also praised Toffoli for his scoring skills and championship experience. Toffoli has played 812 regular-season games with the Kings, Canucks, Canadiens, Flames, Devils, and Jets, earning 521 points—260 goals and 261 assists. In 93 playoff games, he has 46 points, with 20 goals and 26 assists.
