Siblings Brady and Taryn pen heartwarming wishes on Matthew Tkachuk's 27th birthday
Florida Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk celebrated his 27th birthday on Dec. 11, receiving heartfelt birthday messages from his siblings, Brady and Taryn.
Matthew and Brady Tkachuk are following in the footsteps of their father, NHL legend Keith Tkachuk. Known for their hard-nosed playing styles, the brothers are among the most recognizable sibling duos in the league today. While Matthew Tkachuk won the Stanley Cup with Florida as alternate captain last season, Brady is leading a young Ottawa Senators team as its captain.
On Wednesday, Brady Tkachuk shared a photo of the brothers taken after the Panthers’ Stanley Cup Finals victory. In the caption, Brady wrote:
“Happy bday bro @matthew_tkachuk.”
Taryn, their younger sister, also posted a picture where she is hugging Matthew. Taryn wished her brother a happy birthday and mentioned that she missed him.
“Happy birthday to the best 😅😅. Miss ya,” she wrote.
The Tkachuk siblings share a close bond and often celebrate each other’s achievements. When Matthew won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers earlier this year, Taryn and Brady joined him for family photos with the trophy. During Matthew’s day with the Cup in Missouri, their father Keith even helped Taryn enjoy a celebratory sip from the iconic trophy.
Brady and Matthew Tkachuk congratulated sister Taryn
Earlier last month, Taryn Tkachuk, the youngest member of the family, wrapped up her collegiate field hockey career with the University of Virginia. During her four-year tenure with the Virginia Cavaliers, Taryn demonstrated consistent growth and made key contributions to the team.
This season, the Cavaliers posted a strong 14-5 record and advanced to the NCAA playoffs, where they narrowly lost a 3-2 overtime thriller to Northwestern University in the final game of Taryn’s collegiate career.
After the game, her brothers wrote her congratulatory messages through their Instagram stories.
“Congrats on amazing 4 years," Matthew wrote, reposting the Cavaliers’ season-closing game pictures.
Brady Tkachuk gave his flowers to his sister. He wrote:
“Was always fun watching you play.”
During her time with the Cavaliers, Taryn Tkachuk garnered several accolades. In 2022, she was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament Team. The following year, she achieved her first multi-goal game, earned the ACC Offensive Player of the Week honor and secured a spot on the All-ACC Second Team. In her final season, Taryn delivered two game-winning goals.
