“That’s what’s fun about the show” - William Nylander praises 'FACEOFF: Inside the NHL’ as Maple Leafs star comes into focus during docuseries

William Nylander is one of the stars of the first episode of Amazon's new docuseries called FACEOFF: Inside the NHL. The Toronto Maple Leafs star believes that Leafs fans should watch the show. The docuseries attempts to show fans a deeper look at the sport they know and love, and it begins with Nylander.

One of the biggest moments shown in the episode is a fiery interaction on the bench between Nylander and his Maple Leafs teammates. The hockey star said via The Hockey News:

"When you're on the bench and that kind of stuff happens, they catch that. But that's what's fun about the show and being able to see that aspect of the game. I mean, without the cameras there, nobody would know what was going on."

Nylander, in Game 4 of a playoff series, yelled at Mitch Marner to "stop f*****g crying" and to just "f*****g shoot" the puck. The cameras caught the angles of it that fans hadn't really seen yet.

The episode takes a look at the origin of their relationship, which began playing for Sodertalje of the Swedish Hockey League, and how they morphed into bitter rivals in the NHL.

They even went to Nylander's house and caught him eating a lot of donuts during a nervous watch of the Boston Bruins contest. He said:

"When I was hurt they were watching one of the games at home, I had a huge box of Krispy Kreme donuts. I guess I didn't make the cut."

Not everything made it into the episode, but plenty did. It gives fans a much deeper look at the sport and its stars. Nylander and Maple Leafs fans, stand to benefit a lot from that. The show drops on October 4 on Prime Video.
