Vancouver Canucks revoke season tickets of fans accused of committing "prohibited" act
The Vancouver Canucks have been revoking tickets from fans they suspect of engaging in "prohibited" activities. The organization is taking action against those believed to be violating the terms and conditions of their ticket agreement, particularly brokers involved in the mass reselling of tickets.
The Canucks have made it clear that season ticket memberships are intended for personal use and enjoyment, not for resale or profit-making purposes. The team's terms and conditions state that memberships can be revoked at their discretion.
While the Vancouver Canucks provide a verified resale platform through Ticketmaster for season ticket holders, there are associated transaction fees. In the past, some ticket holders opted to use other platforms where they could sell the tickets at lower prices.
Speaking to Daily Hive, the Canucks issued the following statement:
“Our goal with season ticket memberships is to create a sense of community and allow fans to attend as many games as possible. Restricting ticket brokers from purchasing memberships and tickets will help create the best possible experience for our fans and protect the integrity of our season ticket members.”
Vancouver Canucks announce 2024-25 preseason schedule
The Canucks announced their 2024–25 preseason schedule last week. They'll play six games against the Seattle Kraken, Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames during this span.
The first game of their preseason is scheduled for September 24 against the Kraken at Rogers Arena. The next day, the Canucks will travel to the Abbotsford Center for the fourth year in a row to play against the Calgary Flames.
On September 27, the Vancouver Canucks will visit Climate Pledge Arena to face the Seattle Kraken in their final meetup of the preseason. Following that, they will travel to the Scotiabank Saddledome to face the Flames.
On September 30, the Canucks will play the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place, and two days later, on October 2, they will finish their preseason against the Oilers at home in Rogers Arena.
The Vancouver Canucks had an outstanding 2023-24 season, finishing first in the Pacific Division with 109 points. They returned to the playoffs after three seasons and eliminated the Nashville Predators in six games in the first round.
The Canucks' journey came to an end in the second round when they were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers, who went on to become finalists in this year's Stanley Cup final. Despite the playoff exit, the Canucks' successful regular season and postseason appearance marked a remarkable turnaround for the franchise.
