Vancouver rapper bbno$ flashes 3-word message on jumbotron at Canucks game
Vancouver's very own rapper, bbno$, pronounced 'baby no money', made another memorable appearance at Rogers Arena during the game against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. The rapper had a hilarious interaction when the production team put the cameras on him.
With 13:18 remaining in the second period, the game went into a brief break. The cameras and the arena's announcer introduced bbno$ to the crowd. With the cameras pointing towards his seat, he began scribbling on a whiteboard and then held it up.
He wrote 'Looking 4 wife' as a funny reaction and proceeded to gesture 'call me' with his hands before bursting into laughter. He reposted the clip on his official X account.
Born and brought up in Vancouver, bbno$ specialises in hip-hop music along with R&B and electronic music. His breakthrough single was Lalala released in 2019, before gaining much wider recognition through his 2021 track, Edamame.
He is among the well-known group of Canucks celebrity supporters, which includes actors like Cobie Smulders, Ryan Reynolds, Finn Wolfhard, and Owen Wilson.
bbno$'s epic performance at Rogers Arena from last season is still fresh
Canucks fans might remember bbno$'s performance during a game against the Dallas Stars in March of this year. The rapper first appeared among the crowd, interacting with the audience in the gallery after the end of the first period.
His second appearance, during the next intermission, was even more memorable. Wearing a full Canucks uniform, bbno$ skated on the rink while performing his major hits. Although he slipped and fell, he continued his song, eventually lying flat on the rink floor to greet the crowd.
The cheerful and fun-loving bbno$ took the embarrassing moment in stride, responding heartily on X with a three-word reaction.
One thing common in both of his recent appearances at Rogers Arena was the game's result. The Canucks lost comprehensively 3-1 to the Dallas Stars on March 28. On Saturday, Vancouver dropped a point to the Ottawa Senators in a 5-4 overtime game.
Heading into the winter break, the Canucks have 39 points from 33 games and currently sit in fourth place in their Pacific division, but still in playoff spots.
