Jennifer Courtemanche, the girlfriend of Vegas Golden Knights minority owner Gavin Maloof, is currently facing serious theft and money laundering charges. This is according to reports from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Courtemanche, 44, from Marina Del Rey in California, is accused of siphoning off nearly $500,000 from Maloof's phone since 2020.

Courtemanche has been charged with money laundering, theft of $100,000 or more, and two thefts between $25,000 and $100,000. There are also several gross misdemeanour counts of conspiring to launder and commit theft, according to an arrest warrant from the Metropolitan Police Department.

Maloof reported receiving harassing text messages and photos from various voice-over internet protocol phone numbers, prompting an investigation to take place.

Police were able to trace Courtemanche's online address and suspect she has siphoned off over $465,000 from Maloof since April 2021 using Apple Cash as her method of payment.

Courtemanche and her purported talent agent Brittany Burgess took a total of $498,000 via Apple Cash from Maloof from December 2020 to February 2021.

Maloof allowed Burgess to use his number in order to pose as Courtemanche's agent. But police reported that her calls only served to appear like auditions for different TV shows or movies.

From 2020-2023, 214 Apple Cash transactions were carried out from two phone numbers to Maloof's phone for transfers or attempted transfers. Of those, 184 were successful at getting funds.

The pair allegedly stole over $93,000 between December 24, 2020 and December 14, 2021. Then they took $275,000 from January 1, 2022, to December 27, 2022, and an additional $75,000 between January 25, 2023 to April 13, 2023. Then, they stole another $53,000. Courtemanche and Burgess laundered $205,550 acting together, according to police in their warrant.

The warrant specified there was sufficient probable cause to arrest Burgess for theft, money laundering, and conspiracy. However, she does not appear in Justice Court records as having been arrested or charged with anything.

Courtemanche's Las Vegas lawyer Ryan Helmick declined to provide a comment about this case; Maloof and a spokesperson from the Golden Knights also weren't available for comment.
