VIDEO: Jets' Cole Perfetti smashes face-first into boards after hit by Andreas Englund

During the second period of the Winnipeg Jets and Los Angeles Kings game, Jets' Cole Perfetti was hit from behind by Kings' Andreas Englund near the neutral zone.

The hit appeared so dangerous that Cole Perfetti's face was smashed into the board. However, no call was made by the referee on the play. Fortunately, Perfetti did not receive any serious injury and was fine afterward.

The LA Kings currently lead the Winnipeg Jets 5-1. Pierre-Luc Dubois was the first to get the team on board at the 11:01 mark of the first period. Five minutes later, Trevor Moore made it 2-0. The second period saw no goals from either side.

Coming into the third period, Arthur Kallivey, from an assist from Moore, gave the Kings a 3-0 lead. Trevor Moore then scored his second of the game to make it 4-0 for the Kings. The battle between the two teams is currently ongoing, with five minutes remaining for the final buzzer.

How did Cole Perfetti's Winnipeg Jets fare against the LA Kings?

The Winnipeg Jets (1-2-0) host the LA Kings (1-1-1) at MTS Centre on Tuesday. The Jets lost the game 1-5. The first period had no goals.

Pierre-Luc Dubois scored his first goal for the Kings against his former club to give the Kins a 1-0 lead at the halfway mark of the second period. With less than four minutes before the end of the second period, Trever Morre's goal pushed LA to a two-goal advantage.

In the final period, goals from Arthur Kalive, Trevor Moore, and Philip Danault sealed a commanding 5-1 win. Mark Scheifele was the lone scorer for the Jets in the contest. Philip Danault and Morre had three points apiece.

Cam Talbot made 26 saves and posted a.963 SV% for the Kings. Meanwhile, Cole Perfetti had three shots on goal. He's accumulated one point in three games this season.

Perfetti and the Jets next play against the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, October 19. The Puck drops at 8 p.m. ET.
