Vladimir Tarasenko brings Stanley Cup trophy to patients at Broward Heath and fire rescue station in Fort Lauderdale as part of champions tour
Former Panthers forward Vladimir Tarasenko spent his day with the Stanley Cup trophy by dedicating his special day to a good cause. He shared the joy of lifting the cup with patients at Broward Health, fire rescue unit at Fort Lauderdale station and the children at Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.
Vladimir Tarasenko was next in line to spend his day with the trophy during the Stanley Cup’s champions’ tour on Tuesday. He first went to Broward Health, a healthcare and medical facility in South Florida and spent the morning there, carrying the Cup through the halls, posing for photos with patients and even drew paintings with them.
“Broward Health had the pleasure of hosting Stanley Cup Champion Vladimir Tarasenko and his family today!
"Thank you for sharing the excitement with us and bringing the Stanley Cup magic to our team,” the handle of Broward Heath tweeted along with a video of the player walking in with the Cup.
Vladimir’s wife Yana Tarasenko posted a series of pictures from the day on her Instagram story, including magical moments the forward shared with young patients and the Cup. The current Detroit Red Wings forward also visited the Fire Rescue Station at Fort Lauderdale and clicked photos with the rescue unit members.
One of the pictures saw Tarasenko and a rescue agent jointly lifting the cup, while a few others showed the NHLer posing with the Cup and young fans at the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.
Yana also posted some candid snaps of their three children, Mark, Aleksandr and Artem, playing with the Cup at the pool and later at home.
Vladimir Tarasenko donates $10,000 to Broward Health for a good cause
Sharing the joy of the championship wasn’t the only noble gesture Tarasenko made on his special day. The former Panthers forward donated a generous sum of $10,000 to the hospital funds, especially for children and their families.
The donation was made to support the hospital's efforts in providing healthcare to younger patients, particularly in areas where additional resources are needed. Tarasenko may have started a new chapter in his professional career, but the NHLer didn't forget to give back to the community of Florida.
“We believe that the way you treat people, you get it back at the end of the day. So we wanted them to see and also spend together as much time as we can,” said Tarasenko. [H/T WSVN]
Panthers mascot Stanley C. Panther also joined Vladimir Tarasenko as a part of the NHL’s Stanley Cup Champions Tour.
